I recently had the opportunity to contact a listing Realtor about his own personal residence. An out of town buyer has been focusing on properties well over $1M and routinely requests more photos so he can zero in on what properties he wants to view when he visits Hilton Head in the coming weeks.
I asked this Realtor if he could email me some additional photos as the only photos in the listing were of the kitchen, dining room, living room and master bedroom plus some outdoor photos. Now this property is listed at $1.9 Million. Incidentally, I found it interesting that no reference of the Realtor's ownership was identified in the listing even though it is a SC state law that we have to display this fact in all listings and advertising.
So what answer did I get? It went like this: "Those photos are the only ones we have at this time (he lives in the property). We tired to get more photos but these were all we got. The rooms are large. We have an appraisal for $2.2 M from 2 years ago. Good Luck. Let me know if you want to view the property."
Now quite simply, I can go and take photos of his property (with his permission, of course.) But wouldn't you think that someone who is actively trying to sell a personal residence would be a wee bit more cooperative?????
Okay, so we're not in the seller's market that existed several years ago so this type of response has me totally shaking my head. Do some people just NOT GET IT? What ever happened to cooperation???
